The ocean has my heart, and the mountains steady me.
I’m Henny—born in South Korea and raised in Vancouver.
My world has always been shaped by a balance of movement and stillness, nature and city, observation and feeling.
I studied photography at Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson), where I developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling and form. Afterward, I spent several years assisting fashion photographers and working within a commercial cinematography studio—experiences that deepened my understanding of light, composition, and narrative.
Over the past 15 years, that foundation has evolved into a more intuitive and emotionally driven way of working—one that’s less about directing and more about noticing.
Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me outdoors—by the water, on a trail, or somewhere quiet with my dog, Leia. I’m drawn to natural light, fresh air, and the kind of moments that feel simple, but stay with you.
Travel continues to shape how I see—new places, new people, new perspectives. It all quietly informs the way I document.

I like to let things happen by themselves and capture the moment in between. The ones that will bring back to you all those sentimental memories. This is your day, one day that you have been dreaming of, the day you will forever be cherished deep in your heart till the end of the time! This is such a beautiful thing and I want you to live every second of it to the fullest. And I will be there to turn these fleeting moments into sets of photographs that hold the meaning to each of their own, and all together tell the whole story!
I may remain invisible, but if you are seeking some guidance, don’t you worry, I got you :) At the end of the day my goal is to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera so you can be yourself! So let's talk, let's share our visions, let's makes some amazing memories together. Let's trust one another and let this relationship bloom into a friendship.
