Vanessa and Loic’s wedding day at Aux Vieux Moulin included an intimate ceremony, a dreamy candle-lit reception, and so much love and laughter with their family and friends. Vanessa Anna, a fashion and lifestyle blogger based in Montréal, Québec and her partner Loïc, found me through the wonders of the internet, thanks to the lovely Isabella from Dakor Events. Vanessa and Loïc have been together for ten years, and the love and connection between them were palpable. It was such an honor to be flown out to Montréal to capture their special wedding day at Aux Vieux Moulin!
The day started out a little gloomy with a few drops of rain, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Vanessa got ready at the beautiful house that she shared with Loic. I loved all the pink details that perfectly matched her bubbly, lively personality. Her dress, with its intricate sleeve details, was absolutely stunning. When she first reached out to me, she mentioned she wanted to go for vibey black-and-white, in-motion photos that captured her style beautifully.
Loic got ready at his parent’s house, just a five-minute drive from their own home. It was a joy to capture the fun moments as him and his groomsmen put on their tuxes together, looking dapper as ever.
By the time we arrived at Aux Vieux Moulin, the day had cleared up. At the venue, Vanessa’s sister helped her put on her veil, completing her look. Vanessa had a heartfelt first look with her dad before entering the ceremony, everyone in the room tearing up (me included!)
With only 50 wedding guests, the ceremony was very intimate and beautiful. The bridesmaids and groomsmen sat with the immediate family, creating a close-knit and warm atmosphere. One of my favourite moments was after the ceremony, when the wind picked up at the perfect moment, allowing us to capture some fun, flying veil shots. At one point, Vanessa’s veil flew away, and a family member nearby caught it, everyone laughing hysterically, creating such a memorable moment.
Vanessa and Loic’s first dance was lit by the most gorgeous sunlight beaming through the window, making it an absolutely magical moment. The guests enjoyed an amazing meal together and the day turned out to be perfect in every way. I am beyond grateful to have been chosen to capture these memories for them!
